Baby Colors

Swirling white fingerlings
Blue in the cracks
Laced like

Tumbleweed
Laced like
Funnel cake

I take a deep breath, jog, then race
Rebirth in the canal of January’s
Defiant, piercing, vibrant Western Sun!

Two-tone, ombre,
Light pink touch the blue
Head held just under the surface

Suppressing the wriggling doubts and
Persistent delusions, no,
The curtains lie open

Air is just above my crown
And will be mine again
Sure as the lavender January divide

1715 and 0745
